Your man is not a financial plan. Your financial success is up to you.
Do you want to be truly empowered? Have you dreamt of being financially independent and have the freedom to spend your own money? Are you tired of asking your better half for his credit card whenever you want to fulfil your needs? If your answer to all these questions is yes, you have the DNA of a Millennium Mam!
If you’re saying ‘Wow, what or who is a Millennium Mam,’ then read on. You will get to know what it takes to be a Mam and how you can be one. We’ll take you on an exciting journey that transforms a woman with dreams of independence to a woman who is in charge of her finances!
Hey, now wait! If you think we are working 14 to 15 hours a day to become financially independent, then you’re way off the mark. We Mams know how to have fun, let our hair down and enjoy the good life. We are mothers, daughters, daughters-in-law, wives too!! We love to sing, walk the ramp, bring alive the actor in us, learn a new language, read a new book and of course, indulge in our favourite activity – shopping!
Shopping? Yes, shopping! Like every bargain hunter, we look for value! Which shopping mall do we go to? The best in India, BSE!!!
Never heard of the BSE Mall? It’s also called the Sensex (you must have heard your husband’s talking about it!). Well, it’s the Bombay Stock Exchange where you get the best brands of companies!!! You look for quality, colour and texture – right? Here is what we look for.
We look for performance, management, and potential!! We search for the hidden gems with a magnifying glass!! We have lessons on stocks to help us hunt down that elusive brand. The Sensex is like a thermometer you use to measure temperature!
A thermometer? Does the Sensex have fever sometimes? Is there no medicine for it? Well, here’s the fun part! When the economy is booming and people are buying, the Sensex shoots up just like a high fever!
When things are down, people stop buying, the Sensex falls! Some people fall apart! However, for the Mams, it’s like a sale at a shopping mall! We find the winners selling at huge discounts and put them in our shopping cart!
Last but not the least; you must be a continuous learner. Be passionate about what you do, be curious and disciplined.
If you have fire in your belly and the hunger to be truly independent, Millennium Mams’ can help you become financially free. But being a Mam is not for the faint-hearted.
You’ve got to be committed to what you do, no half-hearted effort, please! That’s because just as the popular phrase ‘behind the success of every man, there is a woman’ holds good for most people, for us it’s just the reverse!
‘Behind the success of more than 4000 women, is a man!!’ He is no ordinary man! He chose the path less travelled to create Millennium Mams’ 27 years ago. Loved and respected by us all, he is a bundle of energy and we all refer to him as ‘Dhanuka Sir.’
Age is just a number for Mr. Bishnu Dhanuka, our mentor and guru. We can challenge you – you can’t keep up with his youthful energy and dynamism. His warmth and appreciation for us is our single greatest source of motivation.
He took great pains to create this unique institution that empowers women through financial literacy. He organizes ‘investor awareness workshops’ to help women become financially independent.
He designed an exceptional one-of-a-kind course that covers the theoretical and practical aspects of financial literacy. Like the captain of a ship, he accompanies us to the Annual General Meetings of top Indian Companies, visit factories and invites leaders from the corporate world to share their story with us.
Dhanuka Sir is an avid patron of Yoga and don’t you dare disturb him between 8 and 10 in the morning! Spirituality is also an important part of his life and he has introduced us to spirituality through Sister Shivani classes.
Patience and a passion for learning – these are the two indispensable qualities you need to possess. You must develop the joy of discovery. We look at a business to see if it is well managed, has a strong product and shows great potential for the future.
Initially, you’ve got to arrange for the capital to invest in a valuable company. Test the waters by investing small amounts in the stock you have studied as part of our course. Be patient with the stock and after a specified period, you will find that your stock will reward you.
It’s similar to planting a sapling; it won’t grow into a tree the next day! There are a lot of distractions, trust me! There are times when your patience threshold will be stretched to unimaginable levels. You could be on tenterhooks, but you need to keep your cool.
As part of your training, you will meet the key people who run the company at their AGMs. You will be taught how to ask the right questions. We Mams have built a great reputation at AGMs! You will be taken around their factories to see the latest technologies and how the product transforms into its final shape.
The day will soon arrive when you find that the money you have invested has grown steadily and you will taste the fruits of success, your first PROFIT!!!
Repay your loan to your well-wisher and soon you will be on your way to financial freedom! The bonus, your family members will see you in a different light and ask you to manage their investments. How about that, RESPECT and INDEPENDENCE, both at one go!!!
We love to make a profit, but we love to reward ourselves in other ways too!! If you have a passion for acting, but never really found a platform, we have a theatre wing, Wajood, which can fulfil your dreams.
Love reading, well we have a book club! The latest releases are reviewed after the members of the book club have read them. Rekindle the book worm in you.
A true Mam is passionate about the environment. We plant saplings, distribute eco-friendly bags, and our office is a ‘plastic-free’ zone. We are investors with a conscience.
Our Annual Event is an entertainment bonanza. With sparkling performances from our extremely talented Mams to life lessons shared by our distinguished ‘Chief Guest’, we have it all.
If we try and define a Mam, it would be ‘a woman who feels impossible is just I’m possible.’ She has a positive outlook on life and wants to earn respect through financial independence. She is responsible, ambitious, caring and of course, wants to make ‘every moment in life count.’
Financial independence is a journey, not a destination. It’s not your knowledge of finance, but your passion for learning and contributing to the organization which has been so painstakingly created for you that is more important.
A Mam is a MOTM or Master of Time Management! It’s not a degree, it’s a virtue that needs to be cultivated. The weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, responsibilities will continue to be part of your life and we wouldn’t want to take any of it away from you. You will have teething problems at first, but if you can survive the initial hiccups, the world is your oyster!!
Exceptional contributors are part of our committee and they make sure that our events go without a glitch. It’s all about teamwork and loving your organization. Brainstorming, sharing ideas and implementation – it’s a great feeling!
We follow the principles of the legendary investor, Warren Buffet and practice what he says, ‘Invest in Yourself.’ Be a better version of yourself. Explore your potential through the various activities like singing or theatre along with earning financial independence. It is one life and you should make the most of it.
Ready to start your journey towards financial freedom…
